Social Work Week of Action – A Huge Success
World Social Workers Day has been celebrated all over the world! In many countries social workers have celebrated social work achievements and discussed the implications of the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development: Commitments to Action (the Agenda). Some IFSW member associations have presented the Agenda to their governments requesting action for social justice.

In addition to World Social Work Day is the United Nations Social Work Day, which will be held on Monday 26th March completing the Social Work week of Action. On the UN Social Work Day, IFSW and its partners the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW), and the International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW), will be presenting the Agendaat the UN offices in New York, Geneva, Santiago de Chile, Nairobi, and Bangkok.

At the UN headquarters in New York, Helen Clark, Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will formally accept the document on behalf of the whole of the United Nations. At this event the heads of UN Member-State Missions will also be presented with the Agenda in front of an audience of more than 600 NGO representatives, social workers, educators and social development practitioners.

It is wonderful on this day and in this week to be a part of a global movement that is sharing the same messages on the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development.

World Social Work Day celebrated on the 20 March 2012 is the annual opportunity for all social work organisations to promote the significant role of social workers and the profession. Social work will also be celebrated on United Nations Social Work Day 6 days later on 26 March 2012. On that day, IFSW and our partners will present the objectives of the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development to the United Nations.

IFSW invites national organisations, members and partners to celebrate World Social Work Day on the 20th of March under the banner of the Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development. IFSW will release the Global Agenda Document officially on World Social Work Day 2012.

The Global Agenda process became real in 2010 when 3000 social workers and social development professionals gathered in Hong Kong to create a united platform to strengthen: the ‘dignity and worth of the person’, to reduce ‘social and economic inequalities’ and to emphasize the importance of ‘human relationships’ in a ‘sustainable environment’.

I Jornadas do Serviço Social da Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos

O Serviço Social da Unidade Local de Saúde de Matosinhos, EPE vai organizar as suas primeiras jornadas no próximo dia 30 de Março, no Auditório do Hospital Pedro Hispano.

 

Neste encontro pretende-se reflectir sobre as perspectivas que cruzam a actualidade do Serviço Social, a sua dinâmica e os desafios que se colocam à sua intervenção, com destaque também para o trabalho que vem sendo desenvolvido no Hospital Pedro Hispano e no Aces Matosinhos.

 

O programa abarca quatro grandes temas: «Planeamento Estratégico no Serviço Social», «Rede Social – Comunidade versus parceria institucional», «Sistemas de Informação para o Serviço Social» e «Intervenção do Serviço Social da ULSM».

No âmbito do Dia Mundial do Serviço Social (IFSW) e do Dia do Serviço Social das Nações Unidas (ONU), irão realizar-se eventos para uma semana de ação em Portugal Continental e nas Regiões Autónomas, que decorrerão entre os dias 20 e 26 Março de 2012.

APSS- 1 Semana de Ação do Serviço Social- Comemoração em Faro

“No âmbito do Dia Mundial do Serviço Social (IFSW) e do Dia do Serviço Social das Nações Unidas (ONU) a Associação de Profissionais de Serviço Social, está a planear eventos para uma semana de ação em todo o Portugal Continental e nas Regiões Autónomas, que decorrerão entre os dias 20 e 26 Março de 2012.

Integrado nesta “semana do serviço social”, a Delegação Regional do Algarve da Associação de Profissionais de Serviço Social, vai organizar no próximo dia 21 de Março de 2012, as Jornadas comemorativas do Dia Mundial do Assistente Social, evento que irá decorrer na Universidade do Algarve, Campus da Penha (Instituto Superior de Engenharia no Anfiteatro Eng.º José Silvestre).
